Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is the eighth edition of unpeated single malt whisky made from locally grown barley, demonstrating the distillery s commitment to using high-quality ingredients from traceable sources. This particular expression is made from the 2012 harvest, which was grown on seven different farms on the island of Islay and distilled in 2013. It was aged for eight years in a combination of ex-American and ex-European oak casks, resulting in a whisky with a signature maritime-citrus, barley-forward style and subtle nuances from the individual growing season. The farms that contributed to the barley for this whisky include Cruach, Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Dunlossit, and Sunderland.
