Single Malt Kanosuke 2022 LIMITED EDITION 59% 700ml is a single malt Japanese whisky that is produced at the Kanosuke Distillery using all three of their pot stills. It is aged in a variety of oak barrels for three years and then blended together to create a whisky that embodies the distillery s concept of MELLOW LAND, MELLOW WHISKY. This whisky was produced between 2017 and 2019 and is made with unpeated malt. It is bottled at cask strength from a blend of barrels, with sherry casks playing a key role in its flavor. In contrast to the 2021 FIRST and 2021 SECOND releases, which mainly used re-charred American white oak ex- Mellowed Kozuru aged rice shochu casks and bourbon barrels, respectively, this whisky is characterized by the rich and enticing aromas of sherry cask-aged malt. The flavor of this whisky lingers on the palate like the sun setting slowly over the East China Sea. Tasting notes for this whisky include a reddish amber color, a nose of lemon tea, honey, ume plum, and Japanese nikki cinnamon, a taste of dried berries, coffee candy, and old woodiness, and a finish that is spicy with a pleasantly lingering bittersweetness.
